Western Community College Celebrated 1200 Graduates at Convocation Ceremony on March 21
Surrey, BC – Western Community College (WCC) proudly celebrated 1,200 graduates at their Convocation Ceremony on March 21, 2025, at the Bell Centre for Performing Arts. The event marked a significant milestone for students who have completed programs across a variety of in-demand fields, reinforcing WCC’s commitment to providing quality education and career-focused training.
Graduates were recognized for their accomplishments in programs including:
- Health Care: Practical Nursing, Health Care Assistant, Medical Office Assistant
- Business & Technology: Business Administration, Accounting and Payroll, Computerized Office Administration
- Trades & Technology: Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Hospitality Management
- Community & Social Services: Early Childhood Education, Community Support Worker, Education Assistant
The ceremony was attended by faculty, families, and distinguished guests, including representatives from government and industry. Speaking on behalf of Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke, City Councillor Rob Stutt praised the graduates for their dedication and highlighted their role in strengthening Surrey’s workforce.
“Western Community College graduates are shaping the future of our city and our economy,” said Councillor Stutt. “Their skills, passion, and hard work will contribute to the growth and success of our community.”
WCC Board Chair & Chief Public Affairs Global Officer, H. Captain (Navy) Anita Huberman, delivered inspiring remarks, emphasizing the importance of resilience, lifelong learning, and leadership.
“We are incredibly proud of our graduates,” said Huberman. “Their journey has prepared them to be leaders in their industries, and we are excited to see the impact they will make.”
