Western Community College, through community partnerships and the support of the government of British Columbia, has the privilege of providing 100% government-funded education to eligible applicants starting early 2022. During each program, students will receive education from Western Community College, essential skills trainings through one of our community partners, and employment support. About the program
This 28-week program is designed to provide participants with a broad range of knowledge of the different areas of Settlement and Integration in Canada.
Upon completion of the program, participants will be equipped to assist newcomers with their journey of settlement and integration into the Canadian community. Participants will gain knowledge on a range of topics that include Canadian Law in relation to immigration, Culture and Integration, Foundations of Settlement Workers, Needs Assessment and Interviewing, Case Management and Settlement Counselling, Introduction to Community Mental Health, and Safety and Life Skills for Newcomers among others.
