Western Community College is pleased and proud to announce that we are now recognized by IATA (International Air Transport Association) as an IATA Authorized Training Centre (ATC). WCC now offers IATA Airline Training Programs in partnership with IATA. IATA will provide all Training Materials and conduct online exams. IATA will issue Certificates to qualified students in addition to WCC certificates.

It’s an excellent opportunity for aspirants to become Airline Professionals to join the exciting Airline Industry, fly around the world, and explore.

Western Community College now offers the following courses:

Airline Cabin Crew Training

The Airline Cabin Crew Training is a 45-60-hour partner-taught or self-study course designed to prepare students to become flight attendants for a major airline and start an exciting and challenging career experience. For more information, visit program information.

Assisting Travelers with Special Needs

This course provides knowledge and skills in identifying customers who may have special travel needs and require non-emergency special services, support or accommodation from suppliers.

Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) for Cabin Crew Members

This course teaches the students tasks and responsibilities to ensure that they are competent to perform the job function in compliance with the provisions of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) – appendix H 6.9 (Cabin Crew). For more information, visit program information.

Serving the Travel Customer

In this course, students will learn about customer service in the travel industry, highlighting its importance in retaining current and attracting new business. Students will also explore fundamental communication skills essential for positive agent-customer interactions, practical ways to stay in touch with traveling customers, and how to win customer loyalty. Learn how to handle demanding or upset customers, deal with the reality of stress in the workplace, and learn coping strategies for travel professionals.

Upon completing these programs, the successful student will have developed various career-related skills, knowledge, and behaviors to effectively perform multiple functions required in providing passenger safety and services specific to the aviation industry.
