Dementia Care

Program Overview

This program helps health care workers understand the complexity of Dementia and develop the skills required to support dementia care patients and their families. This program will increase the student’s knowledge of professional practices in dementia care, and help them to understand and manage the disruptive and abusive behaviors of their patients. This program will give the students the tools to effectively organize, administer and evaluate the care needed for persons experiencing cognitive health challenges.

This 2 day certificate for Health Care Assistants provides the specific tools, knowledge, and training to manage patients with Dementia.

Earn up to $23.80/hour

Program Admission Requirements

An applicant must be 19 years old or older, and must have successfully completed the Health Care Assistant or other health related regulated program.

This program does not require approval by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training. As such, the registrar did not review this program.
