Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Committee
The WCC Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee serves as an advisory body that supports the College in advancing equitable policies, inclusive practices, accessibility, reconciliation, and community engagement.
The Committee works collaboratively to:
- Promote equity and inclusion across all areas of college life

- Encourage open dialogue and meaningful engagement
- Provide recommendations to college leadership
- Advance reconciliation and Indigenous engagement
The Committee’s work is guided by principles of:
- Anti-racism — actively challenging racism and discriminatory systems
- Accessibility by design — embedding accessibility into planning from the outset
- Intersectionality — recognizing that identities overlap and compound lived experience
- Mental Health Wellness – approaching sensitive topics with care and awareness
- Evidence-based practice — grounding decisions in research, data, and community input
- Shared accountability — holding the institution and ourselves to our stated commitments
