Statement of Commitment

Western Community College (WCC) is dedicated to fostering an inclusive campus environment that values diversity and provides equal opportunity for all learners. In accordance with the BC Human Rights Code, the College provides reasonable accommodations to students with documented disabilities to remove barriers to their academic success. Our objective is to ensure that every student evaluates their academic merit. Accommodations are determined on an individual basis following a formal review of the impact of a student’s disability or medical condition on their learning.

Confidentiality and Privacy

All medical and personal information disclosed to the Student Services Office is kept strictly confidential. Documentation is stored in secure files and does not form part of the student’s permanent academic transcript. Information regarding a student’s specific diagnosis is not shared with faculty; only the required accommodations are ever disclosed
