Surrey, BC – Today [Monday, January 20, 2025], Western Community College and the Surrey Health & Technology District hosted a very informative meeting in Surrey with Shadow Ministerial Critics from the BC Conservative Party. The event fostered an engaging dialogue focused on the transformative potential of education, specifically private education, and technology in advancing British Columbia’s economic growth. Education and transportation are critical drivers of economic development, enhancing productivity, efficiency, and access to opportunities. The discussion emphasized the strategic role of Surrey’s Health & Technology District in fostering innovation and its impact on the province’s economy.
“Together, we provided key strategic pathways on how education, technology skills training, and innovation can counter Trump tariffs and focus on productivity for BC’s economy,” said Anita Huberman, Board Chair, Chief Global Public Affairs Officer.
