Tips tricks for effective study skills

Many students struggle with various things like – unplanned schedules, lack of concentration, no planning, etc. If you are also going through any of these issues, don’t worry. Here, we will share with you a few tips that will help you focus more on your studies. Be it assignment writing, exam preparation, or just routine studying; these tips will make all the difference in the world for you.

Let’s start with the list of study tips and tricks.

  1. Picking the right place and time
  2. Study Everyday
  3. Planning the schedule
  4. Discover the suitable learning style
  5. Review & revise

Each of these tips is designed to improve your focus and deliver the best outcomes, making your future bright and successful. Let’s elaborate on each of the points mentioned above one by one.

Picking the right place and time

When it comes to studying, you must choose the right place as well as time to learn. Since everyone has their taste in what kind of place is comfortable for them to study, it is entirely a personal choice. Still, here are a few things that you must consider:

Setting up a study space – A few things that can help you in creating a perfect space for studying is – it should be quiet, comfortable and have enough light. The point of all this is to create a space where you can spend hours studying without any distractions.

Finding the right time – Some students feel early mornings to be the best time to study; many prefer night time more comfortable to study. Depending on whether you are a morning person or a night person, you can fix the time to study. The catch here is to set the time anyways.

Study Everyday

Making studying part of your daily routine is a MUST. Studying in a routine every day can keep your mind active and learning a constant. This in turn, helps you to understand your subject better and also ease in preparation during exams as you will already be familiar with everything that you need to know.

Preparing a schedule

The next thing that you need to do is – prepare a schedule for each subject. Most students tend to complain about not being able to plan the schedule for each subject. This can be done by using a few very simple tips – use alarm clocks, use wall calendars, divide the hours per subject depending on your excellence level in them, limit time per subject. These are a few things that can help you in preparing a workable schedule for studying.

Discover the suitable learning style

Some students find learning by writing more effective there; others might like to focus on reading only. Whatever you feel is best for you, you must stick to that style of learning. The three most common kinds of learning styles are –

  • Auditory learners – These are the students who learn by listening.
  • Visual learners – These are the ones that catch up to things quickly if done visually or using images.
  • Tactile or Kinesthetic learners – These are the students who learn by practicing. Review & revise

Another significant thing for each student is to keep revising what you have learned. Once you have grasped everything that you need to learn, it is wise to revise it, again and again to ensure that you have memorized it and understood the core of it.

These are a few things that, as per our knowledge, has helped every one of the students who are looking to succeed. So, if you are also among those students looking for ways to improve their studying routine, we hope this article comes in handy. If you still face issues in concentrating, we have a team of counselors on campus who can help you get through it all.
